Green Coffee

I am a coffee lover and pretty much need it every single morning for me to function at a somewhat normal level. I guess I am considered a coffee addict and I am cool with that. I made some slight changes to my diet but was not willing to say goodbye to coffee. The relationship we have with each other is entirely too meaningful. So instead of my mug of coffee with almond creamer, I switched to what I call “green coffee”. It taste really good and its full of healthy stuff including coffee. This is a great drink for those of you that dislike the taste of coffee but still want that morning or afternoon caffeine. It doesn’t have a coffee taste and it delicious.

The recipe is as follows:

2 cups of ice

1 banana

1 cup of almond milk or coconut milk

1 scoop of vanilla protein powder

1 cup of brewed coffee

Blend it all in a blender. I have a Blendtec.

And thats it!! Pretty easy!! I pour them in 2 mason jars and save one for the next day so I only need to make it every other day.

For protein powder I use either Vega One or  Nutiva hemp powder. The Hemp powder has a strong taste. It takes some getting use to. I am going to give Nutiva vanilla hemp powder a try. The Vega One taste really good!! I lean towards the hemp powder more because it is one of natures best  plant based proteins. It’s got lots of amino acids and packed with fiber. You can use any protein powder you would like. I personally chose a plant based protein powder because my goal is to consume greens 3 times a day. Sometimes its hard to do that in the morning so with a plant based protein powder I get it in first thing in the morning.
