We had no sports one weekend and the boys have been wanting to go shark tooth hunting. The shores of Venice, Florida are known as the shark tooth capital of the world. One of the best places to stark tooth hunt is Caspersen Beach. Caspersen is family friendly and has several areas for hunting teeth and shelling. Another perk is there are bathrooms and outside showers. It’s also not a busy beach.
For tooth hunting, we used sifters. There were lots of people on the beach using a sand flea rake. I honestly didn’t even know that it existed until we went to the beach and saw so many people using it. It was fun family activity and neat to see so many people shark tooth hunting.
Ezra and Roman found shark teeth. They were small but they enjoyed doing it. Sorry I forgot to take pic of their teeth 😉
It was Silas first beach trip too. He loved playing in the sand and water. It is so fun to see things through a baby’s eyes.
Two other beaches to hit for shark toothing is Venice Beach and Manasota Beach. We plan to hit Manasota next since the boys want to go back and look for bigger shark teeth. Can’t wait to go again! xoxo
